Cover letters

A cover letter built on your proof.

ActiveTwin reads the job, finds the achievements in your career that prove what it asks for, and writes the letter from them. What you can't prove, it asks you about instead of inventing.

Example · Daniel is made up
Staff Engineer, Platform · Ledgerline
Proof for each requirement · from your library
Design event-driven systems at scale

Designed the event-driven tracking platform that handles 2M shipments a day · Fleetwise · 2019–now

Own reliability in production

Kept the tracking platform at 99.95% uptime in the year after the migration · Fleetwise · 2019–now

Kubernetes operators: not in your library. Have you built a Kubernetes operator? What did it run, and for whom?
The letter, from this proof

Ledgerline's platform runs on events, and so has my work for seven years. At Fleetwise I designed the event-driven tracking platform that handles 2M shipments a day, and kept it at 99.95% uptime in the year after we moved it to Kafka.

Your proof for each requirement

ActiveTwin reads the posting, picks what it asks for most, and finds the achievements in your career library that prove each point.

  • Three to six requirements, the must-haves first
  • For each one, the achievements that show it, with their numbers
  • Something nearby is not proof: a team of 45 doesn't prove leading 70
  • You keep or set aside each requirement and each achievement

What's missing is asked, not invented

When the job asks for something your library doesn't show, the letter leaves it out, and you get a short question about it instead.

  • Answer in a line, and it goes into your career library under the job you choose
  • It becomes proof for the letter at once
  • Every number in the letter is checked against your library and the posting

One proof, four ways to send it

The same proof as a full letter, a short note, an email or a message to a recruiter, each with its own length and parts.

  • A letter of 250 to 400 words for postings that ask for one
  • A short note of up to 150 words for a form's text box
  • An email with a subject line, or a message of up to 80 words for LinkedIn
  • Warm, formal or direct, in the posting's language or one of ten
  • Your own reason for the company, in your words, used as you wrote it

Edit it your way

Every word is yours to change. ActiveTwin helps where you ask.

  • Write one paragraph again with a wish: shorter, more about the team
  • Move, delete and add paragraphs
  • Numbers your library doesn't contain are marked in the text
  • Phrases that make a letter read like every other one are pointed out
  • Your edits teach it how you write; it follows your voice once you approve it

In the look of your CV

Download the letter as a PDF or a Word file in the look of your CV or resume: its header, font and colour, so the two read as a set.

  • PDF on every plan, Word on the paid plans
  • The letter you sent is kept as it was when the application moves to Applied
  • Postings that ask for a cover letter are marked in your inbox

Questions

Is the cover letter builder free?

The Free plan includes one cover letter, with no card. The paid plans write as many letters, notes, emails and recruiter messages as their AI tokens allow, and add the Word download. Plans are monthly and can be cancelled any time.

Will it make things up?

No. A letter is written only from the proof you keep, your career library and the posting. What the job asks for and your library doesn't show is left out and listed, and any number that is in neither your library nor the posting is marked for you to check.

Will it sound like AI?

It avoids the phrases most letters share, and points them out if they get in. Once you have edited a few texts, it can learn how you write: short sentences, the words you cut, how you open and close. You read that description, change it and approve it before it is used.

Which languages can it write in?

The posting's language by default, or English, Bulgarian, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese or Romanian.

Does it send the letter for me?

No. ActiveTwin never applies or speaks for you. You copy the text or download the file and send it yourself.

What happens to my letters and my CV?

They are stored in the EU and never used to train AI. You can take your data with you or delete it at any time.
